I had an engine loss of power on take off the other day. It felt like I lost a cylinder with lots of banging and shaking. I was able to climb a bit while turning on a tight downwind for an uneventful landing. the engine idled OK so I taxied back to the hangar.

Compression check good so I suspected an intermittent stuck valve or a broken spring. Nothing found so I looked at the mags, harness and plugs...Nothing either.
Finally when taking the carb. out I found the flapper door from the carb. heat broken and was resting in the inlet of the Ellison TBI.

Something else for Tigre owners to watch out for.
