This new windshield (still in its protective wrapping) was made by Airplane Plastics Inc. It is an exact copy of a CASA 1131 rear windshield. (I loaned them mine.) The windshield can be ordered in 0.125" or 0.187" thickness with or without polished edges.
While it is not that difficult to make windshields, optically perfect acrylic sheet is expensive and fragile. One slip and you exceed the cost of buying the finished product. Airplane Plastics also temper the windshields after forming.
