If you would like to see a pictorial schematic for a very simple aircraft electrical system, click here to download one. Those contemplating a Honeywell FMS, an auto pilot, heated seats or weather radar should probably not bother :)

The design is intended to be simple, light-weight, and most importantly to draw the absolute minimum of power from the aircraft battery. This is important if like me you choose not to bother with an alternator or generator. With no "master solenoid" to drain the battery I find I need only recharge the battery two or three times a year.

All of the component sources are listed on the drawing. Keep the starter solenoid and the 20 AMP main fuse as close to the battery as you can. The other components can go anywhere.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
